The FCI standard emphasizes the permissible colors of beagles.
Color: Tricolor (black, brown and white); blue, white and brown; motley badger; spotted hare; lemon zest; lemon and white; red and white; brownish white; black and white; all white
With the exception of all white, all of the above colors can be found spotted. Other colors are not allowed.
One of the reasons that cause questions about the color of beagles is the interpretation of the breed standards, which emphasize: "Any color of the hound except liver. The tip of the tail must be white."
This means that no single coloration and combinations are preferred, as are color distributions and spotting, except for the white tip of the tail. There is one exception - liver color, which is considered unacceptable.
The three main colors that are familiar to everyone: black, beige and red also have many shades. Tricolor remains the most widespread color throughout the world. Bicolor, aka two-color, is very common in Britain. Monochrome is also an acceptable amusement.
